Our Managing Director, John Flanagan has been with Perenia since 1994 and has become a highly respected and popular person in the business.

John’s expertise in tree and plant production are well known in the horticultural world. He is the driving force behind our continued growth in dealing with our retail customers and our increased export sales over the past few years.

John is the youngest son of our nursery founder Tom Walsh and oversees the day-to-day running of the company and business development.

From a very young age, John has been involved in horticulture, growing up just a stone’s throw away from our nursery here in Cahir.

The passion and love for growing and nurturing great plants has been passed down through the family and is immediately visible when you meet John.

Carmel has been a core part of our nursery since joining us back in 1994.

As another longterm member of the Perenia team, Carmel is senior manager, running the outdoor section of the nursery overseeing plant production, watering, labelling, potting and maintenance of our site.

We welcomed Ned to the Perenia team in 1997. The knowledge and expertise Ned had and gathered along the way means we have the best eyes looking after tree production, tree lifting and tree maintenance in Perenia.

Ned is one of our senior managers and is also in charge of our potted tree unit. His knowledge of trees is second to none. He has been the expert lead in the growing of trees for some of Ireland’s biggest planting projects

Annette joined our nursery back in 1997 with years of experience and expertise. Annette oversees sales to our landscapers and private customers.

Having studied horticulture in Kildalton Co. Kilkenny, Annette has a wealth of knowledge and a keen passion when it comes to trees and plants.

Always very popular with our customers, Annette is a huge asset to the Perenia team.

We welcomed Kay to our team in 2005, she plays such a vital role within the nursery and is the voice of the business since.

Some of Kay’s main responsibilities here at Perenia include, being head of accounts and looking after the payroll. She is a highly respected member of the Perenia team, a member we are very lucky to have working with us, she keeps the show on the road.

Another long term team member, Ann joined our nursery in 1999. She is an extraordinary member of our evolving and growing team, a team member we all look to and respect.

Among many other jobs, Ann arranges and manages all transport for incomings and outgoings of our plants, both home and abroad. 

Ann is also a key member of the dispatch and loading team, an important role which ensure our much loved plants and shrubs arrive safely to you.

Dan has been with the Perenia since graduating from Kildalton College.

His attention to detail and welcoming personality comes to the forefront when overseeing all new staff induction and training – we couldn’t ask for a better person to show new team members the ropes.

Dan is also a key figure and brings extraordinary expertise and knowledge to our transport and production teams.
